Classic DF – 3/1/04

March 01, 2004: [•] Today was awesome. I had a great time just hanging out with V. Work went good. Wrestling at Immy’s was just great. Okay, so I tripped on ice during a walk at lunch time and managed to bruise myself up pretty bad. Fine some of the stuff I did today at work didn’t work out perfect. Yeah, I’ve got some crud to deal with in my life and everything is kind of loopy right now. Today felt like Spring though. It was truly a new day. This is my new philosophy: I will take each day as a new day. This is also my vow for Lent. To let the day just go as it is and be happy for whatever I get out of it. Good or bad– I am finally at peace with myself again.

Classic DF – 11/30/02

November 30, 2002: [•] Last night, after work, I abducted Immy from his room. We headed on up to Middletown to scope out girls and see how badly Black Friday screwed up the stores (HAH You have to clean up after messy customer you store jockeys you EHEHEH!). We made our usual mandatory stops into the Galleria and Walmart. Amazingly at 11PM Walmart was still hopping with shoppers caught up the day’s buying frenzy. I felt really bad for the employees because it is a 24-hour/7-day a week store so there is no real rest for them. I was beat so though so I went home and passed out by midnight. Tonight I have Gette again and she’s staying over until Sunday night. More Daddy time, which just so owns (as they say). [•] BTW: Immy says that Hoagie is doing well and that’s a good thing. He’s doing something or other in Arizona. I personally think it’s a government conspiracy and Hoagie has actually been abducted by Elvis impersonating aliens, but that is just me. [•] Broken gave me a sneak preview of his next web site layout and it’s looking nice. Keep an eye out for that update. [•] The other day I taught Skyler the joys of dealing with bounced checks. I’m sure it was just as much for her as it was for me. LOL [•] Immy gave me a little peak into the plot line for the Christmas episode of Stack Ups! and all I got to say is make sure you read it once it’s posted. It is hilarious! [•] I don’t care what MapQuest claims about the accuracy of their service. Every time I ask for directions with their online service I either get steered two-hours out of the way (even when using the “shortest route”) or worse yet thrown on a road that barely exists. For example: One time it steered me up a dirt road that was carved into cliff and I was in a 2-ton van begging God to not let me plummet 20-feet down the cliff into a shallow lake below. The best part was 20′ up from that dirt road the main highway turned around and reconnected with the other side of the dirt road. So basically there was no reason to even use it! Thank you MapQuest for almost killing me! [•] Massachusetts is the sole state that hasn’t settled its antitrust lawsuit with Microsoft. Word on the street says that in order to comply Microsoft must declare clam chowder the official soup of Windows XP and hire a Kennedy family member as official Chief Executive Alcoholic in order to reach compliance with existing state laws. 🙂 [•] Intel has announced that the next Itanium CPU will debut at 1.5GHz. [•] The US Military, ISPs, and server hosts are massively cracking down on illegal content including MP3s and pirated software. So store illegal stuff on your PCs at your own risk my friends. [•] Tis the season to be scammed online. Fa la lah la, la lah lah la! [•] Check out the Times-Herald Record News Briefs and look for the article about a fight at the mall. Immy and I were at the mall when it happened. They had tons of undercover security agents walking around that weren’t so undercover looking (they were all carrying around walkie talkies and you could hear every security page… not so secret agents!) and they all went running past us. When we got outside it was police and security everywhere with the suspects being searched. Totally hilarious. [•] Traffic was insane everywhere yesterday. One of my friends made the mistake of getting off the Thruway at the Woodbury Commons exit and found himself stuck in a nightmare situation. I was coming back on 211 past the Galleria earlier that day at around 11AM and I found the same snarled traffic. By 8PM, however, most of the traffic had cleared up. Shopping patterns are interesting and fun to analyze, but I don’t feel like boring you too much so MOVE ALONG! 🙂 [•] Linux Kernel 2.2.23 has been released. [•] Apparently now government officials in Kenya are saying a recent bombing of an Israeli-owned hotel isn’t related to al Qaeda activity. Then again, everything that goes wrong they blame on al Qaeda nowadays. I really don’t think al Qaeda is as powerful or closely tied as most people think. They seem to be just a bunch of angry people who randomly hurt people. Even I could organize that “global terrorist network” and that is just sad. [•] It is time once again for my favorite auto show, The 2002 SEMA Auto Show . [•] Mmmmm… race track tuned Acura NSX. [•] I’ve come to the conclusion I need a REAL day off. I’ve been working nonstop for a month. God, I hate being a workaholic. 😛

Classic DF – 10/23/02

October 23, 2002: [•] The saga of separation continues: Started working on my Order of Separation from my wife. It will take about two weeks to process and then for all intents I will independent of my wife yet still married (Confused? I’m with you. Just smile and nod.). After a year either of us can file for an uncontested divorce from the filing date of the original Separation Order. This is more of courtesy to Mel then a must do thing because she needs health insurance until she can find her own. I don’t simply want to boot her out and leave her dry. That isn’t fair to her. Besides she relied on me for three years and now she needs time to get her life in order. Hopefully she can get everything together in a year. Once again, I don’t want this to be one of those divorces where we come out hating each other. Indeed, that would suck. [•] BrokenReality has gotten 10,000 hits to his site. Congratulations! [•] Skyler’s going through a lot of crap right now so if you see her give her a hug– she needs one. [•] Immy has cooked up a new Stack Ups! based video game called STACKANOIDS! Download it RIGHT HEEEAA~! [•] I went to the Goshen diner last night with V and Broken. I got back home then balanced my checkbook. The good news is I’m going to make it bill wise, but just by the skin of my teeth. UGH! Why does it seem I never have enough money even though I make more than most people in my situation? It’s just mind boggling sometimes. I have no extra cash, period. At least Gette is well cared for. That is my biggest concern. Had a busy day in general though yesterday: Attorney, oil change on the Focus, clean the flAnnelcAve, food shopping, and starting to tie up a lot of loose ends in life. Today is going to be information digging day: Got to get information on my life insurance, salary, and finalize the numbers that will determine my child support. Fun, fun, fun! I can’t wait for all the paperwork, debt, and law service costs to be finalized then paid off. I really want this all done by November because I need to start Christmas shopping. I want this to be a good Christmas for Gette and hopefully I will be able to make it good. God knows I need a miracle right now, but I have high hopes that I’ll get through this okay. At least I can smile and say that single life is going better than expected. Aight, peace out homies!

Classic DF – 10/21/02

October 21, 2002: [•] New Stack Ups!; so go read it. [•] Last night, after work, I watched WWE No Mercy at Immy‘s. Rock, Mermaid, BrokenReality, Skyler, and Damiana all showed up. It was a good time and no one died (which is always good). The show itself mostly sucked ass until the Hell In The Cell Match between Brock and Undertaker. Brock handed the Undertaker his death in a bucket and I’m pretty sure that Undertaker will need a blood transfusion today. The man wasn’t just crimson masked, he was near comatose. Brock barely broke a sweat and and at this point I don’t think anyone can take him out in the WWE right now. Excellent match. I fear the writers are building to Brock versus Triple H at the next PPV. Normally, I would loathe any match that Triple H (a.k.a. I use my knees and hump the boss’s daughter so I get a 10 minute entrance a la Goldberg for no apparent reason). Last night HHH put everyone to sleep right before he used his knee and a (surprise) sledgehammer. I’m convinced that if you put HHH in the ring with the Bigshow they both couldn’t muster more than four different wrestling moves before they would be forced to punching each other repetitively for 15 minutes straight. Result: Stupid match (even Kane looked like he was going to fall asleep 90% of the time). Then again, most wrestlers know how to wrestle; a skill which both of Triple H sorely lacks. My hope: Brock will break HHH like the bitch he is. Funny moment of the night goes to Jericho who tried to lionsault onto Booker T only to have the second rope break under his weight. Some Teamsters are getting fired somewhere LOL. Jericho visibly twisted his ankle, but managed to work his way (through some improvisation on everyone’s part) to a third rope lionsault (a move that was banned by the WWE months ago thus making it all the more kick ass). Good match. Torrie Wilson and Dawn Marie were in nothing, but sports bras and micro hot pants. Mental note: Record on work’s TiVo then replay of that show and spit it out to DivX for future use 🙂 Rob Van Dam versus Ric Flair was good, but nevertheless I really didn’t watch it. Maybe I am just getting tired of Flair period. Retire my friend; it is time. Benoit and Angle are my new favorite tag team. In fact, for the past two years I’ve hated tag team matches in general (can you say completely confusing suck ass wrestling), but they are simply great together. I am really looking forward to their next match. Result: Very good. Trish Stratus needs to stop wrestling and simply start coming down to the ring naked. Problem solved. Immy theorizes that Brock versus Hogan II and Flair versus Triple H are the next main events this coming month. He’s usually right, but I’m going to venture a guess anyhow: Brock versus Triple H (unification match) and Kane versus Rick Flair as the second tier main event. I pick the winners as Kane and Triple H (even if he doesn’t deserve to be the “Brock breaker”, but God knows that’s what they’re going to do). Oh yeah: Tajiri versus Jamie Noble was good too; if not slightly forgettable. 🙂 [•] Tomorrow promises to be an “interesting” day: I’ve got to clean my apartment (ugh… I hate when the place gets dirty), go food shopping, get child support to my wife, get the separation arrangement drawn up with my attorney (yes… tomorrow I become officially single– stand back ladies), move a bed and a fridge over to Mel’s (more space rules!), get an oil change, deposit my paycheck, pay my bills, get the mail from my PO Box (hopefully none of you sent me anthrax AGAIN), and maybe hang out with someone (all work and no play… well that’s my life and it sucks). End of post. BEEP!

Classic DF – 12/7/99

Dec. 7, 1999: I promised Daemon Immoratlis I’d make fun of Marlin to cheer him up (poor Immy is still sick), so… he’s a dork. On to the news! For those of you who think it is only Midwestern kids who shoot up schools, Holland is having the same problem now too. Cuba claims that the US is holding a child found floating in the Atlantic Ocean hostage and they demand we send him back… okay if you say so 🙂 The Russians are still trying to take over Chechena (didn’t they learn anything about Vietnam from us?). Newflash: Teens who drink and use drugs are more likely to have sex… obviously the people who take these polls never belonged to a frat or else this would be common sense. The Babylonian virus is out, chatters beware! Microsoft isn’t the only one in trouble for antitrust violation, Apple of Japan has been brought up on monopoly charges. People who fear Echelon… relax, the NSA says they’d never use it on a US citizen (ummmm…). IBM wants to build a machine to figure out protein structures; sounds peachy. NIN just finished their new video for “Into the Void”. A court ruling says that Providers can’t be held for volatile content. Lego has been declared the toy of the century, ohhhh! The IE5.5 Beta is now out, download here. As far as DF’s revamped web page I’ve been playing with several formats and even showed one to Rock… he seemed okay with it (but it wasn’t like he did a jump for joy or anything). Look for the new Y2K compatible (sort of) DF2K to premiere at the end of December (coincidentally in time for the Year 2000 ohhhh:) In the mean time to keep the natives quiet I’ve removed the status bar Java crawler.
