Things That Go Crunk In The Night

The moon is glistening. There is a distant howl in the dark black night. A slow mist crawls in. Then the break dancing vampires invade! If this week’s episode was a musical that’s about how it would open. When it came time to mix the annual digitalflood Pirate Radio I decided that this year I would use nothing, but bands who’ve had someone die or an artist who themselves died. This is a pretty open genre as anyone who follows the obituaries knows that every day people die. Of course, musicians tend to have a bad habit of dying more frequently than the rest of us. Things just get easier at that point– Instant Pirate Radio Halloween show theme! M’Weezy isn’t feeling very well due to a cold so this show is another mega mix with over 70 minutes of non-stop live mixing. Hop on over to the Pirate Radio section and download digitalflood Pirate Radio Volume 4 Episode 3. One way or another, it’s sure to scare the daylights out of you.

DF Pirate Radio – Cliffnotes (2007 Season)

Cliff Notes – 2007 Season

* There is only one episode for Volume 3. DJ Digitalflood came off his hiatus to let us know he was still alive and kicking in late November 2007. The show features no monologue and mainly focuses on mixing. It is arguably the best mixed DF Pirate Radio episodes to date.

* DF Pirate Radio no longer releases weekly, but does continue production though clearly not at the pace it used. DJ Digitalflood does continue to work on tracks nevertheless.

* This show was completely mixed real time on virtual turntables. Post-production was limited to minor audio inserts (sound clips and show jingles), as well as, audio clean up work. Otherwise the show is is completely real time as it would be heard if you sitting right there during production. The show was done in one take with no edits on the mixing.

Description: DJ Digitalflood spins the last regularly produced Pirate Radio show before the show went on hiatus solo. DJ Digitalflood does a whole show dedicated to Johnny Cash. It’s back to back Cash tunes including some rare songs you don’t normally hear elsewhere. Classic show and a good way to close two years worth of top notch webcasts.

Classic DF – A BIT OF TIME TO CATCH YOUR BREATHE.

treeDigitalflood Pirate Radio will be on hiatus for the next few weeks. This was not an easy decision for me to make, but due to the continued frantic pace that my professional and personal life continues to move at something has to give. That something is the weekly upkeep of the show. I have become very busy over the past several weeks, but please understand this is by no means a bad thing. As work and home needs more attention I simply cannot keep up with my hobby at this time. By giving up the show for a bit though this will allow me to focus more on important things like my daughter, family, and friends. In the end, as I said before, this is a good thing. It gives me a chance to recharge. Perhaps a chance to refocus. Then, when time allots itself, we shall give it another go and continue where we left off. In the meantime, over the coming weeks, I will be reposting some classic episodes so you can catch up. As always, I thank you for listening and checking in. Please be sure to do so and continue to follow my other projects.

Thanks for the memories,

Chris Welch
