Bug Hunting

No sooner did I back up the latest version of df.com this morning when I realized that comments where not showing up on various pages across the entire site. You could comment on blog posts though and that lead me right to my page templates where I noticed the blog template software I used left out one very important PHP array that coincidentally enough called comments on pages. A little cut and paste action to fix that aforementioned snippet of code and now we have comments again across the site. Joy!

While I was at it, I added two more links to the Links & Propaganda section. If you’re a personal acquittance of mine and I somehow missed your web site be sure to drop me a line so I can add you to the page. I think I got everybody I know who has some sort of band or project going on linked up, but I’m sure I missed somebody (and no– it was not intentional).

Well– what you waiting for? Comment away already! 😉

DF.com Rebranded, Pirate Radio Countdown!

Digitalflood Pirate Radio

Digitalflood Pirate Radio

If you’re staring at this on our web site (df.com) and not from one of the many places we aggregate updates to (such as Facebook, Twitter, etc…) you can already see I’ve redone the site branding to be more “Pirate Radio” in nature. SURPRISE! If you haven’t checked out the new site, be sure to click through and see what we’ve done. You’ll notice all the pirate goodness (depsite M’Weezy’s assertions that ninjas can be beat pirates– we all know that pirates rule). I’ve been hard at work with this new df.com rebranding and it’s one of the many surprises to come over the next few weeks. We’re right now on df.com version 11.1.2 (final). I’m hoping you enjoy the new look. As always, let me know what you think.

On to the big news, DF Pirate Radio will be recording over the next few weeks and I’m looking to drop the first episode to you by Thanksgiving weekend on 11/28/09. While my arm is still pretty sore and mostly unusable, I’ve figured out ways to work around my limitations. I should be able to mix the show without a hitch. If not, it looks like some lucky cast member will be getting a crash course in DJ mixing (should be a blast). Watch for a live countdown timer to appear on the site in the next 24 hours that will countdown to go day, which is 11/28/09!

Hoist the line! Tie down the yard arm! Weigh anchor! Set sail, no quarter! ARRRRRR.

DF.com on YouTube

As promised, you will now find in our newly added Video section a group of videos that feeds from our “Favorites” list from YouTube.com (found on the site here). We’ll be adding more videos over time, but there are some of our top perennial favorites posted already to get things going. Of course, you’re always welcome to drop us a line via comments on this post to let us know what videos you’d like to see included. We just might dig what you’re cooking and post it. Who knows. We just might.

To make room on the main menu bar I changed the Visual Artwork section to the smaller length Artwork section. Content remains the same though I did delete some duplicate Graphic Art that I found.

You’ll also find in the right hand side menu some quick picks of the top external DF.com sites from around web the under “Beyond DF.com – Top Picks” heading. The complete list of external sites can be found in the Beyond DF.com section.

Our expansion around the web is complete at this point (at least for the time being). We’re far from done though… we’ve got a few more tricks up our sleeves that we’ll be showing off over the next few weeks. Stay tuned!

Shameless Promotion: Mark Sly

In the great tradition of DF.com Shameless Promotions I give you our latest endorsement: Mark Sly. Ever wanted a chance to learn how to play guitar from the best of the best? Here you go:

Mark Sly, guitarist

Mark used to play in one of my all time favorite bands Karma Blind with Mike Hickey and Wayne Charleston. They were incredible. He’s still playing gigs all over the place and he was on CNBC’s “The Big Idea: Donny Duetsch”. He’s also got a DVD out. Good stuff. Check it out.
