Rating System Error

Just a heads up with the post and page rating system (the one that does the 1-10 stars and thumbs up/down on each post and pages), it appears after upgrading to the latest release there is a bug. It specifically effects web viewers using Firefox 3.5.x. Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.x is not effected by this bug.

The issue is when you vote, the “please wait”  graphic hangs and never passes through showing your vote as cast. If you wait three or four seconds and reload the web page you’ll see your vote was indeed cast, but not reflected on the site. This method of vote and refresh can work as a temporary work for the time being. We’re tracking the issue on our DF.com Code Info page. The issue has been reported to the software maker and should be addressed in the coming days. Once it is an update will be released when the new code is installed.

I appreciate your patience with this issue.

Classic DF – 6/16/03

June 16, 2003: [•] So I finally figured out when I’m going to update this darn thing of mine I dare call a world wide web site of page. You’ll notice I plan on doing it all week during the evening (look at the Calendar page for more info)… er… updating my web page that is… not ummmm…. moving right along! My job is still going well. I’m doing development work on software and its really odd to just be doing things on my own. Like actually being able to be creative. The one downer is my department budget is limiting my resources for a small time. This isn’t much of problem as I have switched from Photoshop (a minimal $100 budget expense) to GIMP (completely free off the Net), but the problem is the Windows 9x/XP port is really unstable. Crashes are frequent and that can negate 10 or 15 minutes worth of work. Even saving is dangerous as that too could induce a crash. Not fun. I’m hopefully going to find a more stable freeware application, but in the meantime this will do. I put in for more some other resources (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc…), but we’ll see what can be invested on my projects. Actually I kind of like having to make due. I haven’t had to be this resourceful for years. I truly have to rely on my artistic talent instead of just using a filter or some lame ass trick like that. I kind of like the idea that I have to strive for this. In fact, I LOVE the idea I have to actually be creative. I really think I’ve found my calling and I’m attacking the tasks at hand with all the vigor of my resources. This could either be my chance to shine or a really big failure. Either way I will learn from the process, adapt, correct, and move on. This rules!

Classic DF – 12/6/02

December 06, 2002: [•] Happy birthday to Morning Glory. [•] If you look real close and pay attention to details you will be very amused by Broken’s latest web page change on his personal site. [•] Both BrokenReality and Mermaid have created a Stack Ups! episode. Both own my momma and are hilarious. The fan submitted stuff is really good and Immy’s little project is really taking off. Where am I in my Ultimate Stack Ups! project? Well, I’m inking still. I’m half way done inking the third page and there’s only four page so I guess I’m about 75% done on the whole thing. I expect by the middle of next week I’ll have it submitted to Immy for posting. [•] I love paranoia news articles. Like this one on the dangers of static electricity while pumping gas. I can picture it now: Tons of frantic consumers strapping on antistatic wrist straps and grounding themselves prior to pumping gas. BTW: It’s a little know fact, but cat fur is major static electricity conductor. So it’s a good idea not to pet your cat while pumping gas not that I know anyone who does, but you’ve been warned. [•] It appears that the Olmecs invented writing in the Americas. [•] So it’s December and I’ve already gotten a major snowfall dumped on my little village in New York. Nothing too bad and things are looking clear today, but I’ll tell you what sliding your car rally style through the snow is fun. Ah, the joys of winter. [•] US military troops are in place for war if need be. [•] Africa apparently has its own Stonehenge-like structure. [•] So The Sopranos are almost over and I really didn’t watch this season. No time to. I like that they whacked Ralphie and now that they cleared up a lot of junk maybe they can move onto the real mob war. Or not. [•] Animation legend William Henson died in a car crash. He was 78-years old. [•] A recent survey found that Mac lovers have loyalty to the brand because the Apple’s computer designs invoke infant-like features thus triggering people to love them like children. This only really proves one thing: Mac users are fucking crazy. It’s a computer for Christmas sakes not a baby! [•] Bread and cereal seem to increase the hormone levels that cause pimples. [•] Paul Grey (bassist of Slipknot) has started a band with two member of American Head Charge called F.O.R. Slipknot itself insists that primary song recording beings New Year’s Day (especially if by “recording” they mean “drinking a lot”) and that by March the whole band will convene to lay down tracks. Nice. [•] The VH1 Big in 2002 Awards celebrated all that is big (ummm… like sausage). [•] US Treasury Secretary Paul O’Neill has resigned. [•] I like the new Lincoln autos. They are pretty nice. This is a sure sign that I’m getting old. [•] Rumor has it that Nissan is going to revive the Datsun brand name. Nice! [•] Bored? Then you’ve never shot a potato out of cannon. Need I say more?

Classic DF – 12/3/99

Dec. 3, 1999: Noteworthy News: NASA has landed on Mars with a space craft that will “hear” what Mars sounds like… sort of. A promising new drug seems to eliminate leukemia, a big step towards eradicating cancer. A new cookie “hole” has been found in e-mail. The Free PC movement has flopped on its face. Chanukah starts at sun down this evening. EarthLink has a hole in its software. Germany may ban Windows 2000, but not due to monopoly problems… we’re talking religion here. Keep an eye on the stock market… it just capped 11, 000 plus as the NASDAQ continues to soar. Look for an early pull out around Christmas (no pun intended) and another normalization period… maybe 🙂 That’s if Y2K doesn’t obliterate us, LOL. DF 10990 News: Marlin’s Place features a response to yesterday’s post… big surprise. And as predicted (maybe I’m physic too) he denied everything and got pissy. Of course, innocent people don’t get pissy, but then again he may not be exactly innocent after all, hmmmmm. The lesson to be learned Sam: don’t open your big fucking mouth if you don’t have anything interesting to say (BTW I didn’t say anything to anyone… however, I forgot you trust the whore who screwed you over again and again over the people who had your back while she was doing it). Mervernation makes sense of the the whole auto industry trend towards rice burners and ummmm… he’s right. Melissa defends me over on her news page, but more importantly she has been sober for over seven months today. Once again I’m proud of her and love her with all my heart 🙂 Rock‘s web page is still down, but you got to dig that white on white motif! Speaking of Rock and his server I’ve come to a conclusion. I’m ready to make a public statement on DF’s opinion on Jeph.Net‘s future. In recent days Tom has added his Korpios.Net. I see he has moved his stuff around. Undoubtedly, rumors have been flying that he is mad at Marlin and Red Raven for attempting to oust him. Jeff has let me know that Tom is a necessity to this web page’s continued service. Immortalis asked me if I was backing Tom the other day. So here is the response: I’m backing DF.com. It’s Jeff’s server so I leave it to Jeff to make the decision on what to do. Either way the virtual domain for azazel.digitalflood.com won’t get registered. And frankly almost every person has become as trust worthy as another with a few exceptions (you know who you are). I only wish that Immy’s web page was restored… and one day I hope that will come to pass. Clearly now the enemy is not one person. Nor is it one side, but multiple fragmented fights. I grow tired of the infighting. The hate mail. The eggs on my car (Jesus can’t you people grow up?). The accusations. The stupid posts back and forth. The dumb ass opinions of a bunch of ummmmm…. dumb ass opinion people 🙂 I’d rather focus on my marriage, my wife, my family, and my job then on them. So I will continue to work on a revamped DF.com Portal. I will continue to develop a new interface. And yes, I will continue to decimate the news to the masses that matters. BTW Tom… I got dibs on Warwick 10990… hell, I coined the phrase… And that is what I will continue to do… piss everyone off! Stay tuned for our next post when in our upcoming holiday post Mel and I will be conquering a small third world country…
